Information about organic cotton and textiles

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment.
These production systems maintain soil fertility and reduce use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and genetically modified seeds.

Global sales of organic cotton apparel and textile products reached a turnover of approximately USD 4.3 billion in 2009. This is an increase of 35% from 2008. More and more of the world’s manufacturers introduce their collections based on organic production.
